Dick Vitale — ‘It’s Realistic’ Kentucky Goes 40-0 [AUDIO]
The Kentucky Wildcats are in the midst of a historic season if they can win six more games. The 34-0 Wildcats drew the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and it is no joke to say they are the class of the field.
ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale joined Armen and Levack on Monday to discuss the possibility of Kentucky achieving that 40-0 milestone should the Wildcats win the tournament.
"They are unbelievable defensively," Vitale said, "They have size, athleticism, Willie Cauley-Stein changes the complexion of a game, you've got Karl-Anthony Towns, here's a guy that's being rated second in terms of the NBA draft, Johnson, Lyles...they have great size."
Kentucky has shown us that size does indeed matter; especially in critical situations which they have proven this season.
"I really think that right now my gut feeling says we're going to see 40-0," Vitale said, "I laughed at that when I was told that prior to the start of the season by many 'Big Blue' fans, but now it is realistic."
It is an obvious "Kentucky vs. The Field" scenario that is playing out. The most dominant team in college basketball looks to have quite the easy road to the Final Four with their toughest task being a possible matchup with #3 seed in their region, Notre Dame, who is playing its best basketball over the last month and are coming off its first ever conference championship after beating North Carolina for the ACC crown.
So, we pose the simple question. Can anyone beat Kentucky?
