Dad Jokes are not exclusive to your father.  Through social media, millions of children found they had a common thread- they all have dads that like to amuse themselves and in an act of collateral damage, torture their families with their arsenal of "clever" quips. But, credit to fathers everywhere, dad jokes have become so pervasive they've earned an entry in the dictionary.

Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines dad jokes: “a wholesome joke of the type said to be told by fathers with a punchline that is often an obvious or predictable pun or play on words and usually judged to be endearingly corny or unfunny.”

UNFUNNY? You take that back!

Dad jokes are no longer confined to inside the car.

Ten years ago, unusual signs started appearing outside Indian Hills, Colorado.  This unincorporated town of around 1,300 residents is now known worldwide as the place for puns. It's ground zero for dad jokes and there's no end in sight.  Who's responsible for this onslaught of grins and groans? 9 News is on the story...

It’s the brainchild of Vince Rozmiarek, a local resident who decided to take it upon himself to switch up the status quo while working as a volunteer for the Indian Hills Community Center

The sign was always used to celebrate events, anniversaries, or birthdays in the small community. Then as an April Fool's prank, Vince decided to get a little cheeky with this message...

“Indian Hills annexed by Morrison slow down.”

Like some dad jokes, I'm not sure I get it.  But it sure did amuse the folks in Morrison. Now after honing his dad-joke craft, Vince has created hundreds of roadside messages and gained millions of fans worldwide. He makes up originals and borrows others.
