Just when you think it's safe to go out in the park

Hey, I'm not trying to sound like a commercial for a horror movie, nor am I after stirring up anything negative, but hey this is definitely worth a shout-out. I wrote a story last September that kind of parallels what I'm about to talk about now -  Bismarck Beware: Parasites From Dog Parks Becoming Hard To Kill  That was the title I chose, and I'm guessing you can tell what the topic was. So many people became aware of this and some stopped going altogether to dog parks in Bismarck/Mandan.

Wouldn't you know it, this comes at a rotten time

Of course, when is it a good time to come across....TICKS! The answer to that is never. I came across a post this afternoon on Bismarck People Reporting News. A perfect place to let everyone know what's going on in our city. "Just as a warning for those who might go out to walk their dogs or enjoy a stroll in the park, there are ticks in Myron Atkinson Park in central Bismarck" Oh no.

Yep, not a very encouraging thing to read at all

So maybe this person THOUGHT it was the annoying four-letter pest? Here was one of the comments that followed "My parents live on North 11th and in all of my almost 31 years, I've NEVER found a tick in that park. Until today"

What to do if you find a tick on your dog

Well here is some more info on what to do if you start discovering ticks.
