Keep Bismarck Beautiful!!!

Walk DON'T Run to the nearest neighborhood here in Bisman, the magic of Spring Clean-Up Week is almost over! This whole week is clean-up. Last year I was out driving around my neighborhood and surveyed the glory. I saw families dash out of cars with excitement in their eyes - foam frothing from the mouth, and scooping up beaten, worn-out....ummm STUFF! It really is like a smorgasbord of fun with an arrangement of 'you'll never know what you're going to find' - Hey you looking for a Bart Simpson ceramic life-size doll? No doubt someone's sidewalk will have one.

Believe it or not, there are some items that are not welcome to layout for our neighbors and scavenger fans

According to bismarcknd.gov "The following items will not be collected on the route but may be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Center. There is no charge for Bismarck residents to dispose of these items when delivering them to the Center"

  • Hazardous waste
  • Liquids
  • Paint

You can also read about what city crews WILL NOT pick up. So if you think you can finally get rid of that awful couch you've had for the past twenty years, good luck! Please enjoy some Hi ( Low) Lights from last year's clean-up week. Once again, not everything you will see alongside the curb is free......People please, the 2001 Silver Chevy Impala (which goes 0-60 in 6 and a half minutes) that you see parked by the curb in my neighborhood, IS NOT JUNK!
