Bismarck Woman Charged with Felony Child Neglect

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A Bismarck woman is accused of neglecting a child under her care and of watching too many children in her home.

Thirty-year-old Bonnie Maddock is charged with felony child neglect or abuse and misdemeanor unlawfully providing early childhood services.

Maddock has not made a court appearance. Court documents do not list an attorney for her, and a working home telephone listing could not immediately be found.

Authorities charged Maddock after an officer found a 4-year-old boy at a city intersection. Police say the boy was supposed to be with Maddock. They say a check of her home also uncovered conditions unsuitable for a day care.

Maddock also is accused of caring for more than six children at once without a license.
