The sun was out this Saturday morning, shining bright, attempting to give  Bismarck and Mandan a glorious day...

...however, a local team already spread the warmth to all of us with the amazing news out of Peoria, Illinois, the site of the U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships. A group of young girls and coaches took to the ice and represented Bismarck pretty nicely I would say - They will be coming home as the 2023 National Champions! Our Capital Ice Chips!

Unlike where I'm from ( San Diego, California ), everyone seems to be familiar with ice skating, or actually playing hockey

Obviously, our winter weather out here makes it easy for those that want to strap on a pair of ice skates and hit the ice, but I can pretty much guarantee you that 99.9% of us have no clue about the long, grueling hours of training that goes in to of being a member of this team. Most of these young women have been ice skating probably as long as when they first learned how to walk across the living room. With parents in the audience, the Ice Chips glided out onto the ice yesterday ( Friday ) for their chance to become Champions

Peoria Civic Center - around 1:00 pm - Friday, March 3, 2023

Competing against 12 other teams from around the country, our Capital Ice Chips took advantage of all their hard work, tremendous desire, great coaching, and a ton of local support and completed a dream come true! Check out the final results that brought Bismarck a National Champion!!!
