Boston Marathon Hoax Suspect Gets Day in Court

A Boston man appeared in court Wednesday on charges of staging a hoax at this year's Boston Marathon finish line.

Kevin Edison is charged with disturbing the peace and "purporting a hoax," following the discovery of a backpack in the city's Copley Square.

Police encountered Edison walking the street shrouded and barefoot. The backpack was found to contain a rice cooker.

A second back was found as well, believed to belong to a member of the media.

Bostonians are observing the one-year anniversary this week of the Boston Marathon bombing.
