Downtown Bismarck Intersection No Longer Looks Like Weird Game of Twister
There have been some modifications made to the downtown Bismarck street project at the intersection of 5th and Main thanks to feedback from motorists and pedestrians.
As previously reported, the colors were added to the intersection in downtown Bismarck as a tested safety technique, which would make the foot traffic more visible for motorists and would give pedestrians a shorter distance to cross the street.
The color of the street activation demonstration had been a common topic amongst those providing feedback to the City of Bismarck.
The new modifications have taken away the red polka dots on yellow paint, which has been likened by some to boomerang shaped pieces of pepperoni pizza or a dangerous street game of Twister.
The street activation demonstration allows the public to test the temporary changes before fully committing to permanent infrastructure. The community may continue to provide further feedback by taking the ND Moves Public Survey.
