WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) — An FBI agent was shot and wounded though not seriously while helping serve a drug warrant in the western North Dakota oil patch.

FBI spokesman Kyle Loven tells KFGO radio that the agent was treated at a hospital and released after the incident Monday night east of Watford City. The agent wasn't identified.

Loven says one person was taken into custody. He did not release any other details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Loven says the agent who was shot is part of a multi-agency task force assigned to crack down on rising crime in the oil fields.
