When You're In The Dumps... Literally

Sometimes things just don't work out, and... break-ups are hard. Most people don't bounce back right away after a breakup. These things take time. Time, and coping mechanisms.

You can dye your hair, you can mope around your house all day, you can try to go out drinking with your friends. Nothing seems to help quite like comfort food.

A Study

USA Rx did a study to find the most popular break-up food in each state. So, naturally, I had to know what North Dakota's was.

Guesses:

Ice cream, maybe? Peanut butter? -- Maybe peanut butter is a weird guess. I don't know, I just realized how terrible I am at guessing. My go-to binge food is pasta, that's all I know.

Let's Find Out

USA Rx's study found that the most popular break up foods in the country are burgers and candy. Five states chose those as their go-to.

In total, there were 23 different foods that came up in the survey. That's everything from potato chips, to tacos, to cake and doughnuts. I have to point out that Arkansas and Arkansas alone went with dumplings as their go-to binge food, and I'm not even sure that's real. Dumplings? Really? -- I can poke fun because I have family there.

Southern States

The study found that several Southern states went with milkshakes. I LOVE milkshakes... but milkshakes don't love me back. I have a complicated relationship with milk products. It's a very sad, milkshake-less life.

North Dakota

I know, I know, I'm rambling. So, the most binged break-up food in North Dakota is... Cookie Dough! Who doesn't love cookie dough? We were all warned as children to never eat cookie dough out of fear we would get sick and die. I call shenanigans. This is not a real thing; our parents just wanted to keep us from living our best lives. Now, you can buy on-the-go cookie dough bowls with little spoons at the grocery store.

So, if you're going through a break-up, my heart goes out to you. With a little time and cookie dough, I know you'll bounce back.

Ta-Ta for now!
