Bismarck is buzzing this week about the visit by Fox commentator Sean Hannity (he is broadcasting his show Thursday and Friday this week from the SuperTalk 1270 studio).  Just who is he, and where does he come from?

Hannity, a native New Yorker who grew up on Long Island, got his start in radio at a college station in Santa Barbara, California, where he was allegedly fired for telling a lesbian caller, "I feel sorry for your child."  Hannity then moved to the Deep South, honinh his style at WVNN/Huntsville, Alabama.  In 1992, he made the move to WGST/Atlanta, where he came to the attention of talk mentor Roger Ailes.

In 1996, Hannity got a TV break when Ailes hired him to co-host a point-counterpoint show with noted liberal host Alan Colmes.  Shortly thereafter, Hannity made the move from WGST to WABC Radio in New York.

Following several years hosting at WABC (and continuing to co-host Hannity and Colmes), Hannity went into radio syndication on September 10, 2001.  Hannity signed a "long-term agreement" to remain with Premiere Networks in September, 2013.  You can hear him daily in the afternoon in Bismarck-Mandan on SuperTalk 1270.

Hannity is the author of three books, all of which reached the New York Times bestseller list.
