LAX Shooting Suspect Set for Arraignment

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) — The man authorities say killed a TSA screener and wounded three other people during a rampage through a Los Angeles airport terminal last month is scheduled to be arraigned at the lockup where he is being held without bail.

Paul Anthony Ciancia is expected to be asked to enter a plea to 11 felony charges, including murder, Thursday afternoon at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Authorities say the 23-year-old arrived at LAX on Nov. 1 intent on killing TSA employees.

TSA Officer Gerardo Hernandez was killed when he was struck by a dozen bullets fired from a semi-automatic rifle.

Two other officers and a civilian were wounded.

Ciancia was arrested following a gunfight with airport police, who shot him four times.
