According to a press release from the Mandan Braves Athletic Department, longtime Mandan Braves girl soccer coach Stephen Weston has announced his resignation.  Coach Weston's resignation is effective immediately.

During his tenure, the Mandan Braves' head girls soccer coach had a record of 36-31-8.  Coach Weston took his Mandan girls team to a 3rd place finish at the State Tournament this past 2022 season.  The Mandan Braves finished the WDA season at 6-4-2 good for 5th place during the regular season.  Overall, the Braves finished 10-5-2 during the 2022 season and went on to have a strong showing at the North Dakota State Tournament.  It appears that Coach Weston will be leaving after one of his best seasons.

Athletic Director, Mark Wiest, says, "We want to thank Stephen for his work with both of our soccer programs the past ten years, and more specifically the girls' program.  Stephen was instrumental in building the girls' program and helping the team qualify for the North Dakota State Girls Soccer Tournament multiple times."  The AD went on to say, "This season he helped lead the team to their first semi-final appearance and 3rd place finish at the State Tournament."

Wiest also praised the coach for succeeding in wins and losses, building relationships, and helping kids reach their full potential.  The Mandan Braves wish Coach Weston all the best with his future endeavors.  The search for a replacement for Coach Weston will begin immediately.  Here's a picture of Coach Weston courtesy of the Mandan Athletic Department.
