Mandan Girl Receives Golden Ticket at American Idol Audition
A girl from Mandan may be on her way to Hollywood!
Brianna Helbling of Mandan received a golden ticket while auditioning for American Idol according to a post on Twitter.
Auditions for the singing competition were held in Fargo on Sept. 6. Helbling, a 16 year old junior at Mandan High School said she performed Concrete Angel by Martina McBride at the audition. The producer then asked her to sing a second song. Helbling chose Young by RaeLynn.
"That's when the nerves really hit me," Helbling said when she was asked to sing a second song.
Helbling now has to wait two weeks to find out what happens next. A video of her singing was sent to a producer in Los Angeles. The producers can choose to not continue her audition process or Helbling may be invited to Los Angeles or Nashville to sing for the producers.
If the producers like what they hear in Nashville or L.A., Helbling would then perform for the celebrity judges.
"Even just getting a golden ticket was a feeling I can't explain," Helbling said.
