It was a crazy story that happened over the weekend but it is closer to getting resolved. 

Mandan Police have in custody the 16-year-old boy charged with shooting a 27-year-old woman in her back as she was driving away. It took a couple of days but witnesses identified the suspect running away from the scene and the manhunt had produced the suspect who is being charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault, attempted murder, reckless endangerment and delivery of an imitation controlled substance.

ORIGINAL STORY (12-31-18): Mandan police say one woman is recovering in the hospital from a gunshot wound to her back. Police officers were dispatched at 8:40 Sunday night to the area of the 200 block of 3rd Avenue NE in Mandan. They received reports of women yelling obscenities and another report of two men possibly shooting a gun in that area. Officers say they were stopped on the way by two people who said one person had been shot.

Paramedics arrived to treat a 27-year-old woman for a wound that does not appear to be life-threatening. She was taken to a local hospital. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection to the incident. Police are still investigating.
