Attacks On Cortez Dance Vid Draw Backlash
A old dance video featuring Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has generated a backlash - against the posters.
As Reason magazine reports, an anonymous Twitter account affiliated with QAnon, a far-right conspiracy buff, released video footage purportedly from Rep. Ocasio-Cortez's high school or college years:
Here is America's favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is...

Thing is, there's nothing really scandalous about the dance video, at least by today's standards (no, she's not twerking). Mostly what we see is a barefoot Cortez, whirling and gyrating in an apparent parody of the dance scene in the flick The Breakfast Club.
Pretty innocent stuff. She's actually good at that dancing thing.
As the Reason article says, the right's attack on the video will probably only serve to make her even more popular. Indeed it has.
It seems to cement the notion that the current crop of Republicans don't take women seriously.
As Reason says, attack her quasi-socialist policies if you will; that's fair game. But not her dancing.
