The science center at Bismarck State College is getting a $40 million makeover.

The Gateway to Science Center, which currently occupies 3,200 square feet of the BSC campus, will expand to an astounding 65,000 square feet. The goal is to keep it as hands-on as it already is, while appealing to visitors of all ages; currently, its target demographic is children.

Fundraising efforts will begin in the spring. Organizers hope to break ground by August.

The new facility will be situated on a bluff with a stunning view of the Missouri River.
