WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) — The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn is holding a grand opening of its 9,000-square foot expansion project.

North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem spoke at a dedication program early Saturday.

The expansion includes a new library, which will showcase the first printed account of the Lewis and Clark expedition from 1807.

Admission to the center is free through the weekend at the center and Fort Mandan.

Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation president David Borlaug says the open house will provide an opportunity for people to see the center's new galleries.
