"Following a year of planning, Bismarck Public Schools in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies will conduct a full-scale emergency drill at Liberty Elementary School on North Washington Street, Wednesday August 7, from 1 to 3PM."
The school system reports about a hundred volunteers are taking part in the active-shooter drill. Some will play the role of injured students and teachers.
The following agencies are taking part in the drill: Bismarck Public Schools, Bismarck Police Department and Central Dakota Communications Center, Bismarck Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Bismarck Fire Department, the City Government of Bismarck, Sanford Health, CHI/St. Alexius and other local and area organizations.
Local residents should be aware that as the drill takes place, a lot of activity will be going on Wednesday at Liberty Elementary School. Remember, it's a drill.
