Many agree that teachers, by and large, are underpaid given the responsibility they carry.  But should some teachers make more than others?

Theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss here makes a case that science and math teachers should earn more than teachers of the humanities.

Why?  Not necessarily because science and math are more "important" than English and social studies (they may be, but that's another argument).

It's a matter of supply and demand.

Folks with math and science degrees have more options in the job market than the other folks; ergo, we must give them stronger incentive to become teachers.

To be sure, many will disagree, for assorted reasons.  But before you dismiss it out of hand, take a look at the video and hear Prof. Krauss's argument in its entirety.
