FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The state Board of Higher Education is holding a special meeting to talk about salaries for 10 presidents in the university system.

The board last week delayed action on the pay hikes so it could consider several salary options from acting chancellor Larry Skogen. One of Skogen's plans would give 4 percent raises to all presidents.

Skogen took over for Hamid Shirvani, whose contract was bought out by the board after just one year as chancellor.

Shirvani had recommended raises ranging from 5 percent for Valley City State's Steven Shirley and Williston State's Raymond Nadolny, to no raises at all for the University of North Dakota's Robert Kelley and David Fuller, president at both Minot State and Dakota College at Bottineau.

The meeting is scheduled Wednesday afternoon in Valley City.
