The Worst Drivers In America Study: Where’s North Dakota?
Drivers in North Dakota can be a bit sketchy. As a lifelong resident of this great state, I think I'm qualified to comment on this topic. North Dakota is one of the worst states for drinking and driving. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. Probably, since I was just a little boy dreaming of getting his permit someday.
Many of us don't know the simple rules of the road like right aways. It's something that I run into on a daily basis to and from work. Red-light runners? Yep, we got them in a big way in this state. Blinker challenged? Sometimes I think cars in North Dakota don't even have them. Distracted driving practices. Clueless drivers at roundabouts, and don't get me going at open or uncontrolled intersections. Yep, I'm pretty sure many of us in North Dakota were sleeping through driver's education.
Our friends at Insurify, say it's not just North Dakota. Drivers across the country are still practicing the bad driving habits they adopted during the pandemic's early days. Data shows significant spikes in traffic fatality rates. Insurance reviewed 4.6 million car insurance applications and identified the ten states with the worst drivers in 2022. We didn't fare too well In North Dakota. In fact, according to the article, a given North Dakota driver is 31% more likely than the average American motorist to have a driving citation on record. Overall, 23.52% of our state’s drivers report an at-fault violation on record in 2022.
According to the study, North Dakota has the 3rd WORST drivers in the Country.
