If you're an animal lover, this may be hard to hear. Yes, there are many endangered animals/species all over the world. Not only that, but there are several species on another list, where they are likely to become endangered in the future.

Efforts To Protect

It's a beautiful thing, that there are so many people who work to protect our wildlife: the National Wildlife Federation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the World Wildlife Fund, and so many others.

North Dakota's Endangered Species List

Similar to the national endangered species list, there is one that is specific to North Dakota.

You can find the list on the North Dakota Game and Fish website, it shows ten different species living in North Dakota, that are in danger of extinction right now.

If you're ever out and about in nature in North Dakota, and see these majestic animals, keep in mind they should not be hunted or disturbed.

Here's a list of 10 threatened or endangered species in our state:

North Dakota's Endangered Species

Here are ten species that are in danger of extinction.

There is a bit of good news; there are two species that have been "Delisted." This means the species has repopulated well enough to no longer be considered as in danger of extinction.

According to the source one of these animals is the Least Tern (Sterna antillarum).

Hopefully, we can keep more animals, insects, and plants from being added to the list. Bid thanks to all the wildlife conservationists for doing what they can to protect these endangered and threatened species.
