The University of North Dakota Men's Hockey team will play rival Minnesota in Las Vegas in 2018.

The Grand Forks Herald reports the two teams will square off in the Hall of Fame game in October of 2018.

The two schools agreed to bring their rivalry to 'Sin City' back in November but no official contract had been signed.

However now it's official. The game will take place at Orleans Arena, a venue that at one time was the home of the Las Vegas Wranglers of the East Coast Hockey League.

Orleans Arena is less than 3 miles from T-Mobile Arena which will be home to the newest NHL franchise that has yet to be named.

The NHL Las Vegas team will play its inaugural season in 2017-2018. When UND takes on Minnesota, Las Vegas will have already turned itself into a hockey town.

Fans in Las Vegas will be treated to one of college hockey's best rivalries.

The official date of the game has not been announced but the Grand Forks Herald reports that it will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
