We Put Cameras on the Referees at the Bucks Final Home Game
On Saturday, June 3rd, the Bismarck Bucks played their final regular season home game.
The Bucks and Bloomington Edge traded scores in a high scoring affair all night long. Like many of this year's games, this one came down to the wire.
The Bucks tied the game at 72 with just under four minutes to play in the game. With about a minute to go, the Edge got another touchdown to go up 79-72.
The Bucks scored with 23 seconds left but rather than trying to tie the game with an extra point, head coach Rich Davis instead opted to go for two. Following a delay of game penalty, the two point try failed. The Bucks trailed 79-78.
However, the Bucks recovered an onside kick and had 21 seconds to drive down the field.
Eventually with five seconds left kicker Evan Connolly who hit a game winning field goal just a few weeks ago, was not able to come through this time.
However, during the first half of the game, three different officials took turns wearing an HD video camera on their heads that we provided for them. It gives us the perspective of the game from that of the officials.
You can see some clips from the 'referee cam' below. We should note though that the referees move around a lot. This makes the picture shaky and the video may cause a small bit of nausea.
