An Act Of Sheer EVIL At “The Desert” In Bismarck
I first heard about this place yesterday, a co-worker sent us an e-mail
The e-mail talked about a car, SOMEONE's vehicle left completely ruined and destroyed and dumped at one of the most scenic spots in all of Bismarck. I was really taken in by the drive out there, I actually had never been out toward the University Of Mary, so while following my Google Maps directions, I was heading into unchartered territory ( for me anyway ).
My main purpose was to see for myself if this poor car was still there and find out what "The Desert" is all about
I had no idea how serene it was as I glided down the Desert Road hill - when I got to the bottom - another half mile or so, and off to my right - there it was - just one car - all alone almost dead center in the small paved parking lot.
There was an eerie beauty to this place, with a light breeze and almost absolutely no noise, I looked straight at what once was a gorgeous silver sports car - a Mustang - my favorite. I found out when I got back to the radio station that this car was reported to have been stolen by a group of teenagers - a joy ride if you will. As much as I absolutely do not understand their motives, at the least, they could have simply just deserted it somewhere simple, and called it a day. A young man was jumped and his keys ( of his prize possession ) were stolen - if the reports are accurate, these thugs completely ruined his life ( the owner ) and destroyed in my mind such a blissful place:
The last I read is that the police apprehended them. I also heard from an unidentified source that "The Desert" could be closed to the public.
