Arizona Governor Vetos Anti-Gay Bill
Arirzona Governor Jan Brewer has vetoed Senate Bill 1062, the bill that would have sanctioned business owners to cite "religious" reason in refusing to do business with gays.
The Arizona Republic reports Brewer announced her veto in a press conference Wednesday afternoon, citing potential damage to Arizona's reputation and the state's economy.
The veto came amid pressure from gay-rights groups and members of her own party to shoot down the bill. Senator John McCain and 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney were among the pols calling for a veto.
