A proactive approach is being taken at the Capitol building, should a protest happen on the grounds.

Monday afternoon, the Capitol building was placed under a 'soft lockdown.' WDAY reports that employees are free to come and go on the grounds, and have their key card to access the building.  but will need to let a stationed officer know why you're visiting, to be allowed in.

The building remains open to the public, but you will need to let a stationed officer know why you're visiting, to be allowed in.

No protests took place on the Capitol grounds today.
