The horrendous murders and details that took place on April 1st, 2019 in Mandan may come out all over again

There are not a lot of people in Bismarck/Mandan who are unaware of what took place that morning. A killer entered the RJR Maintenance and Management office and slaughtered four innocent people, then methodically walked back to his car and drove away. The city was in shock. The biggest question then, and still now, is WHY? A suspect was arrested 3 days later in Washburn, Chad Isaak sat in jail waiting for his moment in court. The trial finally began on August 2nd of last year.

The evidence began to be presented, graphic pictures of death, emotions poured out

As the nation joined in and watched this case on Court TV, juror members listened and watched the graphic details unfold. Video evidence captured the killer rehearsing his plans of murder days before. He parked his car less than a mile away and basically walked the same path to RJR and back. Then he struck on that April 1st. We all listened as DNA samples, clothing, shell casings, and gun parts were taken from Isaak's residence.

August 20th, 2021, and December 28th, 2021

Those were two significant days that hopefully have started the healing process for the friends and families of the four victims. The trial ended on August 20th, 2021 with the jury finding Isaak guilty on all counts. The sentencing took place on December 28th, 2021- life without parole.

"I'm not a murderer and that's all I have to say"

Those 9 words from Chad Isaak were the only ones heard from his mouth - through the trial and the sentencing. NOW if you were innocent, wouldn't you go out of your way to fight for your freedom? Scream, yell at the top of your lungs "I'm INNOCENT". I wouldn't care if my lawyers told me not to speak, I'm the one that has been accused. Put me on the stand, especially if I have nothing to hide. No sign of emotion at all was seen on Isaak's face.

Isaak filed for an appeal last Thursday

According to kfyrtv.com "Documents filed with the court late Thursday give notice of his appeal, but do not detail the argument that will be presented" Isaak has a right to appeal, I get it. However, I feel bad for all involved with having to possibly go through another trial down the road. All the intense pain will be relived once again, and it's a shame.
