The passing this week of entertainer Robins Williams has brought out the best in many.

And the worst in many.

Some of the most appalling reactions include the California shock jock (who shall remain nameless) who posted the police photo of a dead Williams with the belt still around his neck (no, I will NOT dignify this one by posting a hyperlink)...

...the assorted "religious" groups who insist the comic actor is in Hell (if Robin is not in heaven, I don't wanna go there; as for the religious wackos, anywhere they are is my definition of hell)...

A certain syndicated commentator in the twilight of his career (hint: his show is NOT on SuperTalk 1270) who suggested Williams's suicide was the result of his "liberal" mindset (and make no mistake: he did say just that)...

...the abuse heaped on Williams's daughter via Twitter, forcing her to abandon her social media accounts (there is nothing lower than a cheap-shot artist, regardless of that person's alleged motivations)...

...the TV commentator who accused Williams of cowardice for his alleged actions (the host later apologized)...

...and the anti-abortion writer who suggested the suicide may have been triggered by guilt over an abortion many years ago (I would suggest religious fundamentalism has likely provoked far more suicides and attempted suicides than could be listed here)...

Williams was an entertainment giant, and for every giant there will always be small-minded individuals kicking at his ankles.  Yet the legacy of Robin Williams will stand...
