Former President Carter To Undergo Cancer Treatment
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is set to undergo treatment for cancer in Atlanta, GA.
In a statement earlier this week the 90 year-old ex-president said that doctors had discovered the cancer during liver surgery.
Jimmy Carter served a single term as president in the late seventies. He was unseated in the 1980 election by Ronald Reagan.
Doctors say the exact nature of Mr. Carter's treatment will depend on a number of factors, including the former president age and health.
Well-wishes are pouring in for the former president from numerous public figures, including President Obama, who spoke with Mr. Carter by phone.
