The Heaven's Helpers Soup Cafe which closed its doors in 2015 is set to reopen today (Jan. 8) at noon.

The soup cafe closed in May 2015 after the space that the kitchen was renting was being sold. In the time since it closed, Heaven's Helpers has been searching for a new location.

Heaven's Helpers Soup Cafe says they served about 100 to 200 people a day six days a week prior to closing.

Now located at 220 North 3rd Street in Bismarck, the cafe is back open. The soup cafe can now seat 49 people,  significantly more people than the 28 it used to be able to hold.

Items available at the soup cafe include homemade soups, sandwiches, a dessert bar, and eventually a salad bar.

“The Soup Café is open to anyone in the community and we encourage you to stop in for a healthy homemade bowl of soup and a sandwich anytime," Executive Director Mark Meier said in a press release. "You are not taking a meal away from someone in need: your donation (verses a restaurant tab) assists someone who cannot afford to pay for their meal.”

The new Heaven's Helpers Soup Cafe will be open Monday through Friday from 11am to 7pm and on Saturdays from 11am to 5pm. The cafe will be closed on Sundays and may have varying hours on holidays.

The soup cafe is looking for volunteers and more details on that can be found at soupcafe.org
