It's the biggest party of the year - Mardi Gras in New Orleans!

Check out these live cams in the French Quarter of New Orleans and around the city. It's addicting to see how people cut loose and let it all hang out, really! I'm from South Louisiana and as most people are aware of the celebration, what most people don't realize is that Mardi Gras is a season. The "festival" season lasts for 2 weeks heading up to Fat Tuesday. It is the celebration before Ash Wednesday which begins the Lenten season for Catholics.

Everything you can imagine can be seen on the streets of the French Quarter of New Orleans. But the celebration is not just in New Orleans, many towns and communities have Mardi Gras celebrations today and the days leading up to Fat Tuesday including Lafayette, LA and for a more Cajun Mardi Gras, check out the Mardi Gras in Church Point, LA and Kaplan, LA.

If you ever have the chance to take in the celebration, your liver will not thank you for the abuse, but the rest of your senses will enjoy the party! The weather outlook is cloudy, cool with showers. That will not stop the "Bon Temp". (good time)
