ND Pols Oppose Missile Study
North Dakota's congressional delegation has called for an end to plans for environmental-impact inspection of the nation's ICBM launch sites.
Sens. Hoeven and Heitkamp said the study would violate the terms of a recent Congressionally-approved appropriations bill. Rep. Cramer has also opposed the study, saying it could compromise national security.
As the Bismarck Tribune notes, such a study could result in the decommissioning of silos near Minot Air Force Base and in other locations.
