New Ken Burns Documentary Spotlights Roosevelts
Like it or not, for better or for worse, we live in a world largely shaped by Theodore, Eleanor and Franklin Roosevelt.
Now filmmaker Ken Burns has weighed in on the family's story with his latest PBS documentary, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History.
The result, according to reviewer Damon Root, is a generally positive, but "rich, historically grounded" look at this bigger-than-life American family.
"It was not our intention to make a puff piece," Burns says, "but a complicated, intertwined, integrated narrative about one hell of an American family."
The Roosevelts airs Sunday evening on Prairie Public. Damon Root reviews the documentary here.
