North Dakota Couple Part of Gay Rights’ Rally in D.C.
Two women from Fargo are part of the rally for gay rights this week in Washington, DC.
Cindy Phillips and Jan Jorgensen are among those speaking out in favor of same-sex marriage in the nation's capitol this week as the Supreme Court prepares to makes rulings on "gay marriage" cases from a number of states.
Phillips and Jorgensen were married in Minnesota in 2013. Shortly after that state legalized same-sex marriage. A year later, they filed a suit in federal court, seeking to have their marriage recognized by North Dakota, where gay marriage is still not recognized.
Jorgensen says ralliers from both sides are present, and both sides have been loud but civil.
