This study was a bit surprising to me.  Two of North Dakota's safest cities are in the oil patch.  So where did Bismarck-Mandan come in?  Not good, both cities are outside the top 9.

Perhaps you’re looking for a change of scenery, or maybe your job has offered you a promotion in a different city… Whatever it is, when considering packing up your life and moving to a different place, safety should be your number one priority.

Security-based review, comparison and news site, Security Baron, analyzed FBI rankings of crime rates to find out what the top 13 safest cities are in North Dakota, and what their safety score is.

The analysis found that the safest city in North Dakota is West Fargo (population 36,624), with a safety score of 81.86. The city has a rate of 1.45 violent crimes per 1,000 citizens and in fact, a property crime rate of 13.49.
