Polaris Is Recalling More Brands of Recreation Vehicles
The Consumer Protection Agency is recalling more models from Polaris.
Now the CPA is recalling the 4 wheeler models Sportsman 850 and 1000 models made in 2015 and 2016. In total, we're looking at over 19,000 four wheelers.
The issue is the right side heat panel can melt or catch fire. The 2015, Sportsman 1000, the exhaust springs can stretch and damage the exhaust seal. This can cause leaking and can burn or catch on fire.
According to the CPS, Polaris has received at least 793 incidents, including reports of warped, melted or burned side panels, 47 fires and four minor burn injuries.
These models were sold at Polaris dealers from May 2014 through March 2014 and sold between $8,500 and $15,000.
We reported on several Polaris recalls last year, one including the Ranger ROV for fire danger and the other off road vehicles because of fire danger.
If you have a model of concern, you can contact your dealer or contact Polaris at 800-765-2747 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
Polaris is based in Minnesota and is sold locally at Action Motor Sports.
