The National Weather Service in Bismarck is warning the public of a potential threat of severe weather Sunday afternoon and evening into Monday.

According to a graphic that the National Weather Service released on Twitter (and posted above) much of the state of North Dakota faces the threat of severe weather.

Bismarck-Mandan along with a majority of the rest of the state faces the potential for tornadoes, damaging winds and hail damage. The NWS predicts 1 to 2 inches of hail.

Heavy rainfall will accompany the storm as well.

Accuweather is also projecting severe storms for North Dakota and many other areas in the north central US.

A heat advisory is also in effect Sunday afternoon as temperatures can feel like 100 degrees and above.
