It's not too late to get your flu shot for the year - and it's definitely a good idea.

State health authorities say reported cases of the flu in North Dakota are up considerably from this time a year ago.

West Dakota Fox says the State Department of Health released the figures this week.

They say the number of statewide cases stands at just over six hundred, compared to just over a hundred last Christmas.

“Even though you may never have had the flu virus that doesn't mean you're not going to. It just means you have not been exposed to it," warns one health care spokesperson. "So just consider getting it because it could save your life or the life of someone you love.”

Flu shots are available at several local pharmacies, Sanford Health or through your doctor. Further information is available through the North Dakota Department of Health website.
