A video shot during a nighttime protest in Ferguson, Missouri shows police apparently cracking down on the protesters.

The video starts with what appears to be a spirited but peaceful demonstration, protesting the shooting of a young man by a policeman.

About nine minutes in, we see the police move in with tear gas and smoke bombs.  One off-camera voice describes the firing of rubber bullets.

In other Ferguson news, St. Louis Alderman Antonio French was arrested while covering police protests.

Many citizens, and politicians like Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) have called the police tactics excessive.  Paul described what he saw as more like a "war" than traditional police action.
