Every week, we're featuring North Dakota men and women who selflessly work for their communities. First Responder Recognition is all about celebrating our local heroes. This week for First Responder Recognition, we are featuring a firefighter with a big heart.

Ian F. was nominated, not only for having a job helping others, but also for being an all-around great guy. Ian has served at many different stations throughout Bismarck. He has been with the Bismarck Fire Department for 18 years, and's he's been a Captain for seven years. The person writing about Ian says he is a kind soul and has the biggest heart. Whether he is on-duty or off-duty, Ian will always extend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Thank you to Ian F. for being a true hero, in uniform and out of uniform. Our world needs kindness, especially in today's day and age. I know your selfless nature is appreciated by those who's lives you've touched.
