It's that time of the year. It's time to get a flu shot.

The North Dakota Department of health is advising that everyone over the age of six get a flu shot to protect themselves from getting the flu.

According to the Health officials, getting the nasal spray is not recommended due to poor results between 2013 and 2016. Officials say the best way to protect against the flu is by getting the vaccine.

Flu activity begins this time of year and peaks between January and March.

Your doctor can administer a flu shot or you can attend one of the Bismarck-Burleigh public health clinics to get your flu shot.

If you choose to get the vaccine at the clinic, you can fill out this form ahead of time and take it with you. Also be sure to bring your insurance card.
