ND Will Discuss Safety On American Indian Reservations

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. attorney's office in North Dakota is holding a conference to discuss public safety on American Indian reservations.

It's the third year for the event. U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says the meeting will bring together tribal and law enforcement leaders to discuss domestic violence, juvenile justice and other topics.

U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson, chief federal judge in North Dakota, is slated to speak at the conference, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.

North Dakota has four Indian reservations. One of them, the Standing Rock reservation, straddles the North and South Dakota border.
