North Dakota Increasing Fines for Littering on Highways
If you're a habitual litterer, you could be paying more for it soon. Also, shame on you.
A bill was approved by the North Dakota Legislature that would increase fines for littering along highways. The fine will increase from $100 to $500.
The penalty will be enforced for anyone caught tossing trash while on a publicly maintained road. This includes cigarette butts.
The bill was previously approved by the House, before being approved by the Senate on Monday, 40-6.
