Staples in south Bismarck will be closing its doors for good this month.

The store location at 804 S. Washington has a sign posted in its window that reads:

We reached out to Staples over the phone and asked what the cause behind this was and the store employee had no further information to provide us with as they just found out as of yesterday (February 12th).

We will forward the information along as to why this is happening as this is a developing story.

In terms of stores in North Dakota, the Minot Staples location at 10 28th Ave SW has also closed this month. According to KFYR, the store's performance and shoppers switching to online shopping are key factors. KFYR was told this by Staples spokeswoman Jocelyn Thomas.

The Minot store has been opened since 1999 and had 20 employees.

While it's likely there's a connection between the closure of both locations, there is no official word as of yet on whether that's the case. The Minot and Bismarck locations were the only Staples stores in North Dakota.

If you need something from Staples, you have until next Friday to get what you need.
