A recent poll shows "Measure 1" likely to pass in next month's election.

The poll, the Fargo Forum's parent company and conducted by UND's College of Business, found 50 percent of respondents planned to vote in favor of Measure 1. One-third, or 33 percent, said they would vote “no,” and 17 percent were undecided.

The ballot measure is worded to amend the state constitution to recognize “the inalienable right to life of every human being at any stage of development.”

Pro-choice groups and civil liberties organizations have been working to defeat the measure.
